Mountain View, CA – October 18, 2025 – GridRaster Inc., a leader in spatial computing and AI solutions for industrial applications, today announced that it has been selected as a winner in the U.S. Army’s xTechSearch 9 competition. As one of just 24 winners out of over 900 applicants, GridRaster’s groundbreaking Spatial AI technology for modernizing paint camouflage workflows in Army vehicle sustainment stood out for its potential to enhance defense capabilities through AI/ML in spatial computing and automation robotics.
The xTechSearch 9 competition, part of the broader Army xTech program, aims to accelerate the integration of cutting-edge commercial technologies into the Department of Defense ecosystem. It invites small U.S. businesses to pitch innovative solutions that address critical Army priorities, such as AI/ML, sensors, immersive technologies, energy resiliency, and contested logistics. Winners receive cash prizes, mentorship through an accelerator program, and the opportunity to submit proposals for Phase I Army Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contracts worth up to $250,000.
GridRaster’s winning entry leverages its SPIDER platform to streamline and automate spatial processes, enabling high-performance mixed-reality experiences on mobile devices. This technology empowers enterprises in aerospace, defense, aviation, manufacturing, energy, oil, and gas sectors to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance safety through advanced automation, robotics, and digital twins.

This program is designed to position companies for success in transitioning innovative solutions into operational use within the Army.
The xTechSearch 9 competition awarded up to $900,000 in total cash prizes, with finalists receiving $5,000 each and winners an additional $25,000. GridRaster’s selection highlights the program’s focus on fostering partnerships with non-traditional innovators to deliver game-changing capabilities for the warfighter.
